Hook Polo, the UK clothing brand, announces its appointment as the British Army Polo Team’s sponsor and official clothing partner, in a deal facilitated by the Ministry of Defence’s licensing agency, IMG.
Founded in 1998, the British Army Polo Association (APOLOA) was created to govern polo in the Army, both in the UK and abroad.
The “Hook Army Polo Team” has already made its debut this summer, including matches against the Royal Navy at the Rundle Cup and against the Pakistan Army at both Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Guard’s Polo Club.
Alongside this sponsorship, Hook Polo launches its Army Polo collections this week, including the famous Heritage Red playing shirts. The range will be sold exclusively via their website (www.hookpolo.com) and at physical outlets.
Hook Polo’s sponsorship strives to provide support for Army Polo in several ways, and, as a company run by serving members of HM Armed Forces, the company is very proud of this partnership.
Robert Cameron, Founder of Hook Polo, said: “We see this as a very natural collaboration and a wonderful opportunity for our brand. Hook Polo has always been grounded in the sport and places emphasis on the unique heritage of the British polo scene, of which the Army is synonymous.
We recognise the significant value of this partnership – which was notably held by another British clothing brand for several years – and we look forward to supporting Army Polo both on and off the field.”
Lt. Col. Simon Ledger, Director of Army Polo, said: “Hook Polo is the ideal fit to be in partnership with Army Polo. It is a young, forward-looking company and the potential journey for both parties is most exciting. Army Polo represents the ideal platform for the exciting plans by Hook Polo to be taken forward, developed, and matured over the next three seasons.”
