Growing up in the 90s, there were two things you could guarantee would be on the TV in our house: football and WWE.
Back then, it felt larger than life. Heroes, villains, rivalries, comebacks, and some epic catchphrases i still use today! Whether it was Stone Cold Steve Austin opening up a can of "whoop Ass" or more recently hearing John Cena with a "You Can't See Me" long before it became a meme, WWE had a way of pulling you into the story.
Fast forward to today, and WWE has become a global entertainment powerhouse. While I don't follow it quite as closely as I did as a kid, the thing that made it special hasn't changed: great storytelling. The classic battle of good versus bad still works because it's something we connect with at any age.
What's amazing is how WWE continues to appeal to such a broad audience. Kids love the action, characters, and larger than life moments. At the same time, many adults are rediscovering the brands and stories they grew up with, whether through fandom, collecting, or sharing those experiences with the next generation.
At PLAYMOBIL, we've been talking a lot about the imagination gap and the importance of encouraging creative play. The next generation of wrestlers, heroes, villains, and storytellers aren't just watching the action unfold, they're creating their own stories, rivalries, and adventures every day, whether it's in a wrestling ring or on a playroom floor, every great story starts with imagination.
