Lionsgate and Area15 join forces to launch John Wick Experience

12,000-square-foot ticketed attraction to open later this year

Area15, the immersive entertainment district in Las Vegas, and Lionsgate have announced the John Wick Experience. Set to open later this year, the new attraction will transport guests into the world of the billion-dollar John Wick motion picture franchise.

Chad Stahelski, who produces the franchise with Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee at Thunder Road Films, and his team at 87Eleven Entertainment are collaborators on the approximately 12,000-square-foot ticketed attraction located on the Area15 campus.

The new experience creates an interactive journey by combining highly-themed cinematic landscapes with immersive theatre. Visitors enter the intriguing underworld of John Wick through the doors of the Las Vegas Continental, where they participate in a high-stakes adventure and can also visit a themed bar and retail store, which are open to the general public.

Enter the world of the Continental

Groups will be given missions to complete, which will involve characters, mythology, and iconography from the Wick universe. In the relative safety of the Continental, they will encounter staff members, criminal leaders, assassins, and other interesting visitors. Offering a realistic and captivating action-packed experience, guests will be drawn into the culture, trusted with secrets, and invited to exclusive parts of the Continental.

Lionsgate and Stahelski are collaborating closely with experience producer Egan Productions to immerse audiences in the Wick universe. With over 20 years of experience in all facets of production and operations, Egan is a renowned creator of escapes, attractions, and live events.

Previously, Egan worked with Lionsgate on two projects: Escape Blair Witch (2021) and The Official SAW Escape (2018), which opened in 2018 and was named Best Escape Room by USA Today. The John Wick Experience is Lionsgate’s fourth Las Vegas attraction based on the popular intellectual property of the studio, following The Hunger Games: The Exhibition.

“It’s always gratifying to see people embrace your story and characters, whether on the big screen or with a fully immersive experience like this one,” says Stahelski. “The teams at Lionsgate, AREA15 and Egan really dive into this world, and I’m excited that fans will experience it live in Vegas.”

An ideal location

Jenefer Brown, executive vice president & head of global products and experiences at Lionsgate, says:

“One of the things I love about the John Wick franchise is the idea that there’s a whole world of alliances and vengeance hiding in plain sight – all converging within the worldwide locations of the Continental. This experience draws fans into that world like never before, and AREA15 is an ideal place for fans to live out the fantasy, action and danger portrayed in the films,” said

Winston Fisher, CEO of Area15 adds: “We are enormously proud Lionsgate selected AREA15 for the JOHN WICK EXPERIENCE, which elevates our growing roster of premier experiences yet again. Now, we look forward to welcoming even more visitors and fans of the franchise. After all, you never know who you’re going to meet in Las Vegas and, with this addition, it will be even more mysterious, intriguing and mind-blowing.”

“My entire team is thrilled to be working alongside Lionsgate to introduce yet another exciting attraction here in the entertainment capital of the world,” says Jason Egan. “Combining our talents with the creative genius of the films and a world-class venue like AREA15 will make the JOHN WICK EXPERIENCE a can’t miss destination for fans.”

The debut of this experience coincides with Lionsgate’s ongoing efforts to broaden the Wick universe. Notably, the studio recently announced a partnership with Stahelski to take on creative direction for the series across all multimedia platforms. The television series The Continental: From the World of John Wick and the planned spinoff film Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, are also part of the John Wick universe in addition to the four successful films.

Recently, Area15 announced that construction had begun on its new 20-acre site expansion, with the 36-foot walls being raised for the new development, covering an area to the north of the site along Interstate 15.
