The flock of birds will land in theaters in December and continue to make waves in the licensing industry through collaborations.
The Angry Birds are in the middle of one of its biggest years, and after two years in production, the premiere of “The Angry Birds Movie 3” is just around the corner. With the movie trailer launched this past summer and the film set to debut in December, the timing of the movie’s release is very much a full-circle moment, as the original mobile game launched in Apple’s App Store in December 2009.The first “The Angry Birds Movie” landed in theaters in 2016 and made history as the first-ever mobile app turned into a full-length feature film. According to Rotten Tomatoes (a website that rates movies based on the consensus of professional critics), “The Angry Birds Movie 2” continued the first movie’s momentum in 2019 and has remained one of the highest-rated video game movies.Together, the two movies have pulled in more than $500 million at the global box office, according to "The Numbers." Given the past success of the movies, it’s safe to say the third sequel will flourish and fill people’s hearts as the intellectual property (IP) has done for the past 17 years. The geniuses behind the upcoming animated film include well-recognized studios and entertainment companies such as Rovio Entertainment (Rovio) – the IP owner of Angry Birds, Prime Focus Studios, Flywheel Media, One Cool Group, Dentsu and Paramount Pictures. Fans can also expect the return of characters like Red, voiced by Jason Sudeikis; Chuck, voiced by Josh Gad; Silver, voiced by Rachel Bloom; and Bomb, voiced by Danny McBride, as well as new voice talent such as Emma Myers, Keke Palmer, Tim Robinson, Lily James, Marcello Hernandez, Jimmy Donaldson (better known as MrBeast) and more.
